Hi Steve,

Don't know about that Poly lube, but I guess it does go on the balls and
sockets.

I did a complete dismantling of the shifter mechanism last summer and I was
able to clean the old grease only with a soak in a suitable solvent (a
generic parts cleaner). Then, I re-assembled it with white grease. The task
is easy, but print yourself a copy of the ETKA page to be sure... I am
forwarding a PDF of it to you. 

There is also a write-up in the Bentley with the centering techniques (you
won't need it, just mark where is the actual assembly and replace in the
same place).

Is the poly lubricant G 052 142 A2 listed in ETKA used on the shifter balls
& sockets ?
Anyone have a foolproof cleaning & lubricating technique they can share?
