[urq] Rear tow hook on an urQBares, Vittorio Vittorio.Bares at nuance.comWed Feb 18 14:31:48 PST 2009
Guess it depends on: a) how strong you want it b) how much cutting and welding you are willing to do I've never had an UrQ - so I really don't know. If its anything like the 4k, there are limited spots to put one w/o messin up the body work. What I've seen done for medium strength hooks is to weld a loop to the bottom of the spare wheel well - that's assuming its rust free and you get a sufficient amount of surface area welded on there. What are my options ? Bumper is pushed-in, so useless for tow. Now, usually, since I don't go off track that much, I use the front tow hooks to pull people from the snowbanks where they entered in forward motion when I was following them. The urQ with both diff locked and studded snow tires is the best tow truck I know, better even than a Cayenne on 20 in snows (the guy was a bit surprised by the traction the urQ was able to provide). It's one of those "priceless" moments. But since Geraint will now have a Quaife in addition to newish studded tires, and I should be in front of him at no price, I _may_ need a few pulls from behind now.J Louis-Alain _______________________________________________ quattro mailing list quattro at audifans.com http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/quattro --- Watch this space for ads :)
