Then there's www.teamslot.com with some nice looking plastic LWB URQs that are new and 4x4 -----Original Message----- From: urq-bounces at audifans.com [mailto:urq-bounces at audifans.com] On Behalf Of Geraint Lloyd Sent: 12 January 2009 20:19 To: urq at audifans.com; 'Jack Walker' Subject: Re: [urq] Slot Cars Not an expert either BUT There are some scalextrix LWB URQs on ebay fairly frequently These were Quattro with the rear wheels driven by the conventional crown and pinion thing and a longitudinal motor The front axle was driven with a belt (rubber band) by the rear axle So as reliable as the Torsen then, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The Revell Sport quat looks pretty groovy but is rwd only http://www.revell.de/en/products/metal/slot_cars_132/slot_cars_132/index.htm l?id=403&KOKANR=01&KOSCHL=01&KGSCHL=&L=1&page=1&sort=0&nc=&searchactive=&q=& SWO=&ARMAS4=&PHPSESSID=c9ee58938c176877ec89a97d133b2506&KZSLPG=&offset=5&cmd =show&ARARTN=08339&sp=1 i have a scalex fabia WRC and a focus WRC which use the same system as the Sclaex Quattro, although the fabia is FWD transverse with a belt to the rear. I also have an SCX (spanish brand Scalex under licence) Lancer evo6 and a Xara wrc that use a longitudinal motor with a long shaft and a crown and pinion at each end. They are all pretty quick. Being as they are all locked diffs (!) you would expect them to understeer, however the guide blade seems to control that pretty well. I will be suggesting to my colleagues in montreal that we try fitting a big blade thing to the front of a certain red URQ to try and cover some of the deficiencies in my driving on ice..... At one point in time, I had a Slot-it 1/32 S1 and the quailty and detail was pretty rough, but it was just intened as a "toy", so how much can one ask?
