[urq] It finally happened....Robert A Dupree robert.a.dupree at jpmchase.comThu Jul 2 10:36:27 PDT 2009
That sounds a bit like a vac leak before the fuel-plate, which is made worse when at altitude (read: more sensitive to leaks). I would spray some ether in the throttle body to see if you have a fuel-side problem as could be the case, or if electrical. Pop that intake hose off the throttle body, spray in and then start with the hose back on. If it fires up right away it should have enough vac to keep the plate elevated and fuel flowing. I think on my UrQ, when in Ingo's ownership period the rubber bumper stop thingy below the plate wore a hole through the plate and trapped it in the no-fuel position. Also a no start, quasi-vac thing... If no start, then go down the spark path. Find someone to crank whilst you do the screwdriver shank to metal gap test at the end of a spark wire. > -----Original Message----- > From: urq-bounces at audifans.com [mailto:urq-bounces at audifans.com] On > Behalf Of Jim Fleischer > Sent: Thursday, July 02, 2009 11:55 AM > To: urq at audifans.com > Subject: [urq] It finally happened.... > > Hey guys, > > I've been enjoying a fairly well running urq all summer, and today it > gave me a taste of how finicky an ur can be......for the first time all > summer, she failed to start.
