I got a letter from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District today . I
thought perhaps they were going to accuse me of using my fireplace on a
"spare the air" night . so is life these days in Kahleefohnia .

 

Good news!  The state of California is offering to pay me $1000 to take my
polluting pre 1989 car (AKA '83 QTC DA222) off the road.  There's no
guarantee that my car would qualify for the $1000 . gotta take it to a
qualified dismantler for evaluation.  Oh, I see the disclaimer . "If your
vehicle is a classic car or otherwise valuable to you, please disregard this
letter."  

 

The thing that amazes me is that the state has money to fund such a program
when they don't have money for other more vital public programs .
