New gasket not required, however, it is very easy to remove the dist
cap, locate the mark on the dist rim where the cap seats, point the
rotor at this mark, while making sure the crank mark is aligned and you
are ready to remove dist and slip in the cam holders. If I remember
correctly the passenger side took some slight movement of the cam to get
it to slip in.
90V8 157K Pearl 17 Avus -just received my parts from Audi Connection,
getting ready for timing belt number two.

I'm trying to get ready to install the cam locking tools. I presume I
to be at TDC with cylinder #1 before I do that???? I have all the tools
from that Zelenda "sale" several years ago.
Incidentally, I've been having email server problems since yesterday
afternoon and just at noon today got mail service back. I see from the
archives that Dave Head said I could check whether I'm at the right
point by taking off a valve cover and verifying that dots on the pulleys
are facing eachother. Does this require a new gasket for the valve
