I have done a fuel pump R&R without any special tools.

I barely got it to turn by hand (Careful use a plastic rod or something soft to not scratch, no screwdriver). Then I proceeded to run the battery voltage forward and reversed. It eventually starting turning slow at first then faster and faster. Soaking in oil as i put a section of hose on the output port and fed that back into the tank of MM Oil. I did buy a new Ball valve for the top of the FP.
