[Vwdiesel] Turbo-MORE, HP, Pressure, etc.

I think 1.6 NA's were rated about 52hp, 1.6 TD's about 65?
Gutless at top end, but more than enough to move you cheaply from point
A to point B, and off the line the torque is very nice - around town
Borrow my Vanagon diesel (same 1.6 NA diesel - 2000 more pounds) for a
few days, then your Jetta will feel like a Ferrari.

So, it's a "pressure" I'm looking for in this line, right? (PSI) I can
probably borrow a guage from work, as I work in the BioMed/Clinical
Engineering Dept of a Hospital and we have various instruments for
PSI and mmHg (mm of mercury) etc.
What kind of boost in HP does a turbo add to my lil' diesel lump? 10HP?
What should the overall HP be for a 1.6L diesel? Seems really gutless.
I'm sure it won't leave me stranded going up hills or anything, but I'm
used to it being so "flat" over its entire RPM range.
Acceleration is quite slow. Worse than my 89 Escort 1.9L gas.
So many questions.......ha h a LOL!!
