I think Loren mentioned that the bering caps had to be
on the original rod or main bearing saddle they were
mated to AND oriented the same way. I think the rod
caps are numbered. Also, you can tell by making sure
the milling (machine) marks match up on the sides of
the caps and rods and the main bearing saddles and the
corresponding bearing web on the block.
