[Vwdiesel] Heater Core Service Campaign, recall?

I think it was me. It was done on my '85 twice (After
the first time it was replaced by VW, I got a notice a
few years later from VW saying that it would be done
free, no mention about the first time. So I thought,
"What the heck!" Anyway, the recall was mandated by
NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration), that's a US governmental body, and
NHTSA mandated the recall, so VW probably never had a
campaign in Canada. Also, the recall may have applied
to MYs before 1991. By that time, I think VW's heater
core supplier may have changed the manufacturing
process of the VW-bound heater cores to alleviate the
coolant loss problem.
