Good job Shalyn.
Running on the advanced side of spec is exactly where you want to be.
you may want to check the egr settings as well while you are at it and
change them to the low duty cycle.  Fred's has the procedures for that in
the faq's section.  highly recommended from the engine longevity side of the
coin.

I'm not aware of any mileage badge program that volks did after the beetles.

I gingerly nosed the TDI around the block tonight.  All seems good.
I'll run it a couple more days around the neighborhood before I hit
Dallas traffic with it.  I also just lack about 300 miles before I hit
300,000 with the old Jetta TD so I need to drive it for another week.
Anyone know if VW has any kind of program like MB and Volvo where you
get the little badges for your grill if you cross certain mileage
Ribicons?  Dad has those for his Volvos and MB's and I'm sort of
jealous.  I have more miles than he does and no sticker.

A real technical question:  When timing the TDI, I got it to where it
says it's "advanced but within spec".  It's consistently within the
lines, but not by much.  Any point to trying to get it closer or is good
good enough?  It's really hard to not move it completely out of range.
The adjustments are very tiny.
