[Vwdiesel] Hagar's blotter test

Just wondering if your test is good for any oil or does it apply to diesel's only ?  I still have all the old posts so I can look up the procedure.  I was thinking of doing some testing on my other car ( gas engine ) to see about extending the drain interval.
