Along with the timer idea, With timer usage, calculate the electrical cost involved and simply offer to pay for the power. Can't be more than a few dollars a month. Then there can be no whining about special treatment. Being the revengeful person that I am, a syringe of water in their door locks would bring a smile to my face. Oops!
