[Vwdiesel] 1.6l 11mm vs 12mm heads

Alright, I've got the head off my 1980 diesel pickup.

It's a reman head that the PO put on, and didn't tighten the head gasket so oil leaked into the coolant.

Head is straight, everything looks good, I bought a 4 notch elring gasket, which is what was on before.

11mm bolts, hex head.

How can I tell if this is a 1.5 head, a 1.6 small oil return head or a 1.6 large oil return head?

Will the bolts be sloppy in 11mm holes and 12mm holes, or are they tight in their respective heads?

How big is a large oil return vs. a small oil return?
