[Vwdiesel] fuel lines

hi kids..

seeings as i have put together this motor from three separate cars...(jetta rabbit and golf..)
im feeling the growing pains..such is life.
so questions...
i went with the newer intake manifold..
it was 'puurtee'  :o)
but...now i have to move fuel filter a little forward....
(i never liked where it was anyways :o/ )
the line going into filter ..its not under pressure or anything? the line looks really skookum
and crimped at banjo..can i just cut line off that banjo and replace with fuel line n hose clamp?
