[Vwdiesel] Volvo's with VW diesel engines??

I have heard that some Volvo's have a VW diesel engine
in them. One in particular is the Volvo D24.  Can that
engine be used with a VW Tranny?  Does anyone know
what size engines Volvo used form VW?
