Hi Loren, brake rebuilding update. My caliper "un froze itself", the car did sit for awhile in the northeast winters. so no surprise. I will rebuild the calipers and have already procured a donor cal from the bone yard so i'm ready to go on the fronts. I have seen a tool (at a tdi gtg) that allows one person to push new fluid through the brake system via pressurized tank, and thus bleed the brakes. autohasaz doesn't sell it. is that something you're familiar with. next, the owners manual calls for dot 4 fluid, yet my stock of dot 3 meets the specs required. BTW sunday a rear brake cyl let go so the system is stressed. Next, in hagars recent Hillbilly tuning he listed you as a contributer to the information and that this info was to be used for tuning 1978 -1984, NA and TD motors. Would there be much difference to apply this to a 1991 td (jetta). The engine runs good and better with cold cable pulled put (advanced) and i never see smoke when i mash the peddle. So i thought i could advance the timing and increase fueling some, change the intake filter and check the injectors for optimum performance. It doesn't quite idle smoothly so i suspect an altered injector spray pattern >From: LBaird119 at aol.com >To: rgreeley2 at hotmail.com >Subject: Re: Brake rebuilding (was Good VW shop near Yuma, AZ?) >Date: Tue, 22 Mar 2005 23:29:56 EST > > Let me know how it goes! :-) > Loren
