[Vwdiesel] NA exhaust valves for a TD head?Hayden Chasteen dieseltdi at verizon.netThu Apr 7 13:20:20 EDT 2005
That was certainly true in the beginning when they were built but now only one head is supplied for both turbo and NA. I also don't believe that the head has any sodium in it, only the exhaust valves. Unfortunately over the years as heads have been built and rebuilt, I think everything has just gotten mixed up. The Turbo has a stronger, sodium-injected alloy. Different materials are also used for the Turbo's valve seats, the pre-chambers and the turbo's valves made of a special metal called Resistal and the exhaust valves are reinforced by a plasma spray during manufacturing process. > > Tim > > _______________________________________________ > Vwdiesel mailing list > Vwdiesel at vwfans.com > http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/vwdiesel
