  I've done a few, even at the dealer and this is how I did them all.  You 
need a SHARP chisel, about 3/8 wide.  Carve out a bit of the aluminum 
end plate, just enough to let the socket fit on.  It's too tight to grind a 
socket.  The socket will be so thin it'll break.  
  If the bearings plastigauge out like new specs then I wouldn't have 
replaced 
them but...  :-)
