I Hagar is in lockstep with James Hansen. --- NOTHING works better. Remember your Rabbit
IP uses spur gears --all steel.

For Alternators ? lets stay with belts.     I have endless tales of problems with plastic
gears. Even the famous Bendix Scintilla  mags for lycoming fails in short order -- I know
I got them brand new. (4 cyl).

Failing on take-off here in the mountains ?  ----- I had to go home and change my diapers.

PS :    some chaindrives seem to work.   ---Landrover " Annabelle"  chain with hydraulic
tightener.
