> What ill effects are caused by water in the fuel being run into the engine?
If it gets to the pump then it can cause rust, lack of lubrication, wear,
I suppose it could vaproize while being pressurized causing cavitation or a
"bang" in the pump. If it gets to the injector nozzle then the lack of
lubrication is critical and it could blow the tip off of an injector as it
is sprayed into the head. Can just lock up the injector as well, which
isn't good on a pump either. In the engine itself you'd never likely get
enough to ever do any damage.
