[Vwdiesel] Free diesel Tranny

I've got a tranny out of my diesel that I don't want
anymore.  All forward gears worked fine when it was
pulled, but it lost reverse.  I could get the car to
back up, but it was grinding the whole way.

I'm guessing that if you looked at it inside, what was
happening was something like instead of gears meshing,
it was more like nubs rubbing against each other.

If someone thinks they can make use of it, they can
have it.  All you'd have to pay is shipping.

For a poor reference point, I had a VR6 auto tranny
shipped to Kansas from upstate New York via DHL for
~$85.  The manual tranny weighs at least 50-75 lbs
less.

Otherwise, it is going in the trash... unless the case
is made out of magnesium...  Is it?
