[Vwdiesel] Definitive frozen lock fix

I just drove 20 miles hanging onto the driver door in 15F degree weather.
I am sick of the frozen locks.  I have heard lots of fixes, but does anyone have
the definitive fix for frozen locks on a 96 Passat?  The car wasn't even washed recently.
And there's a nice greasy film on the lock parts I can see.

A new Mustang is starting to look really nice.... I might even break my no-gas car rule...

Someone save the Passat from the sale lot....
