I didn't not answer your second part. I used a VDO T junction on the head of the 1.6 Diesel and kept the old switch and the sender connected. Never went back to the old pressure switch though so I don't think you should do this, just unscrew the old and put in the new. -----Original Message----- From: vwdiesel-bounces at vwfans.com [mailto:vwdiesel-bounces at vwfans.com] On Behalf Of Conway, Alan (IT) Sent: Friday, February 11, 2005 1:32 PM To: r.c.brown at ieee.org; Audi-VW-Diesels at yahoogroups.com Cc: vwdiesel at vwfans.com Subject: RE: [Vwdiesel] Re: [Audi-VW-Diesels] VDO oil press senders I put the VDO dual terminal pressure sender on my 1.6L Gas type II and my VW vanagon 1.6L diesel and it operated the light on the dash and the guage and it worked great from 1991 to 2001 when I removed it as I donated the van to charity - same sender, just transferred it (mine guage was in bars and not PSI). I bought it from a VDO agent in South Africa and I still have it at home somewhere. If you need me to look arround for it and see if it has a part number on let me know. This will be for my Vanagon diesel (stock 1.6 for now), so I'm > not sure I want to remove the stock pressure switch. Usually M10x1.0, try http://www.egauges.com/ for senders, etc. Yes, I run a dual output oil pressure sender, works great, one hole w/ two funstions. And you could probably try to hook up a resistance and power supply to the meter and see what makes it read full scale. -- Roger _______________________________________________ Vwdiesel mailing list Vwdiesel at vwfans.com http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/vwdiesel -------------------------------------------------------- NOTICE: If received in error, please destroy and notify sender.
