[Vwdiesel] 87 Vanagon..gas or diesel ?

Saw a 87 Vanagon for auction locally(online), but don't know anything about
it yet.
Did these necessarily come in only gas or diesel?
They're wanting $800.
Here's the blurb.

Picture is dark and taken from far away.
If it was a diesel, I might consider it, as I could get my old 1.6L TD back
from my bro-in-law for
a few hundred bucks I think.
