[Vwdiesel] Oil leak from front of head gasket

I did a first oil change & valve adjustment on my new '82 Diesel Westy 
today, and noticed an oil leak from the front edge of the head gasket, near 
the large oil return gallery. Of course, with the engine at 50 degrees, the oil 
tends to pool at that spot, so I don't know how quickly it leaks. 
The PO claims this was a rebuild last year, and I have no reason to doubt 
him. Is it worth checking the torque on the head bolts? While I don't plan 
on keeping this engine for ever, I'd like to ensure it lasts the summer 
without a problem.
