[Vwdiesel] Timing Belt Cover

I Hagar  drive without the top cover   ---- do I go on gravel roads ?   ---not often and only slow.

In this area one more (not mine)  broke a belt and beat the hell out of the valves. That is two
in the last two month ?  The guy sold the Rabbit to a friend of mine for a 100 dollars.

At least keep the bottom cover on.

I collect the old broken belts  ---- and not one so far has the steel belting inside.

PS:  to do Hillbilly TUNING  ----the top belt cover best be left off.   It is a tideous procedure
but well worth doing.   Remember 1 degree on pump is two degrees on crank. Very
small adjustment makes a LOT of difference.    Bunny Bondos   cover is still off
two years now.  ----still TUNING.  ----due to change in fuel quality.And running
super lean mixture  ----makes for hard starting in the cold mornings.
