(At least the ones that go on the top of a normal floor jack.) My main complaint about them is that they are so tall that the car has to be jacked up quite a ways for them to work. I usually put it up on blocks if I'm going to go that route. Last month when I replaced a seal in a tranny out of a Chev 1/2 ton truck I didn't even bother with the tranny adapter. Just a board on top of the floor jack. Wasn't stable, but with two of us to balance it and line it up when going back in it was ok. I can handle it on my own coming out.
