[Vwdiesel] Removing fuel sender/pickup to clean/polish fuel tank? continued.

Oh yes, 3 of the ridges on the retainer ring are flush with the outside
of the ring, and are evenly spaced apart.  The 3 ridges between each of
these are sticking out from the edge.  I'm guessing that I'm supposed to
line a smooth ridge up with the arrow on the fuel sender unit.
Unfortunately, that's not working, and the sender is spinning slightly
making the arrow move..
