Rolf, I am sure we all feel your pain/stress quite dramatically.
Sympathetically my veins a bulging and my breath is short.  I would agree
with Rob that it is time to find recourse in the law.  Likely a small claims
court would cover it without the need for a lawyer.  Document everything you
can right now.  Save all of the photos.  Print out these group archives.
Write down the date and time of every conversation you had with the shop and
everything they did/didn't do.  Get another used tranny and install it
yourself and get your money back from those criminals.  As I've said since
the initial post, the whole thing makes me angry and sick.
