[Vwdiesel] Trying to get the old diesel to start

How old is the fuel in the tank?
I temporarily used an electric pump in-line between the tank the the fuel
filter to prime a '90 Jetta, worked great!
Use a 8 psi pump (Intended for a carburetor) not a EFI pump (32PSI +).
