[Vwdiesel] The importance to lining up oil pump gears with markings on ea...brian gochnauer brian at gochnauer.netMon Oct 5 15:59:07 PDT 2009
Actually when the main bearing are truely 'spun' they'll often increase oil pressure becase they seize to the crankshaft sealing the oil hole. Rod bearings can cause a hard knock as the bearing allows the piston to reach up and tap the head on exhaust/intake stroke. But with 35k miles, for me, it's likely the knock is a bad injector steaming fuel unevenly in the cylinder causing the piston to 'rock' or slap in the cylinder. imho BrianG iowa On Mon, Oct 5, 2009 at 11:37 AM, Bryan Belman <dieselwesty at yahoo.com> wrote: > Well, no way it is intermediate shaft bearing causing this oil pressure > loss on this motor.
