[Vwdiesel] VW turbo recall

As Dave mentioned, the bigger filter is really just for a bit of extra oil. 
It doesn't catch the problem particles. The stuff that clogs the screen gets 
to about the size of a grain of sand. It is after the filter, that's why it 
doesn't get caught. If there was a filter on the turbo return line, that 
would probably help, but I digress.
