Warning Light & fault codes

     The red triangular warning light on my dash keeps coming on.  It 
     beeps and then blinks three times.  The owners manual states that 
     the car should not be driven and that the dealer should check it 
     out right way.  I've heard there is a way to check the fault codes 
     via the climate control readout?  How would I do this?
