Does that amount include the tax?  

Could make a large difference and be much lower in subsequent years.


I may be off base here, I have not purchased a car in one state and tagged
in another.

A few years ago, I bought my 4kCSQ for $8300 and had a $600 bill at the
tag agent.  The price included tax for the sale and title and license plate.
Subsequent year was much lower.
