[Author Prev][Author Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Author Index][Thread Index] Oil pressure wierdness
Recently, my '89 100Q has started reading quite different oil pressures than it used to. Before, it would read about 5+ bar when started cold, then eventually move to 1.5-2 bar at idle when warm, and 4-4.5 bar at revs when warm. Now, it starts at 4-4.5 cold, and sits at 2.5+ idling when warm, 4+ bar at revs. This seems to have happened right abuot the time of my last oil change. I use the same Castrol 20W50, and the same OE+ filters (with anti- drainback valve as always). What could change this long-standing behaviour? Clogged filter? Clogged line? Incipient oil pump failure? Driver paranoia? -- Andrew L.
