I was talking to a guy who crewed for a 24 hours of Nelson Ledges VW
Wabbit GTi, and he said that he didn't like the studs. He said that they
failed a couple of sets at the race.
Get this now, they actually *tore* themselves out of the brake drum. The
studs themselves didn't break, the drum did. He switched them back to
the bolts, and everything went fine for the duration of the 24 hr race.
He says "There must be something *to* them wheel bolts after all. Dunno
In other news, I had been running the stud kit on the
little-4KS-that-could for quite a while with absolutely no problems at
all. The studs are a nice piece to hang the wheel from whn changing
tires, and you autocrossers know about that one!
YMMV and all that...
