DOT4 reservoir interchangeablity

Is it possible to fit the brake fluid reservoir from a '89 or later 200 to the
master cylinder in a '87 TQ?  Nothing's really wrong with mine, but the threads
aren't very tight, so you can't pressure bleed the thing (I had fluid leaking
from four different places last night in my pressure bleeder, one of which was
the reservoir cap.)  Noticed this is the case with two other '84 - '87 5k'S
with the rectangular reservoirs, but the round reservoirs (on the '89 or later
200's, or on any 4k/GT/80/90 I've seen) seem to thread nicely.  Anyone else
have this problem?  Peter, do you know if they'll interchange?  TIA...
