Thanks to Dave Head and Igor Kessel for the info: I'll dive back in to the unit. Igor; you said that you resoldered a connection on your board. Assuming that my problem may be similar to your's but in a part of the circuit that feeds the trip/odo, did you manage to get the faceplate and the pointer off? On my unit, the small circuit board has to slide up off the frame to expose the soldered side and the faceplate blocks that move. I don't see any way to remove the pointer without breaking it since it appears to be moulded onto the shaft. Incidently, is it true that the tripmeter shouldn't be reset if the car is moving? Did I do this to myself?
