Re: VW vs. Mercedes & Audi vs. BMW

Fitting the hardtop is a dealer job???

My mom had a 73 450sl and though the hardtop was a two person job, it was
covered clearly in the ownders manual. She and I removed and replaced
the hardtop many times, which shows that it doesn't take two Hercules'
either. Hoists and rolling stands for storing it are readily available
on the aftermarket.

I believe an early 80's 280sl is the same chassis as the 73 450sl,
regardless of geography. Right or wrong?
