Fuel injector coolant fan: Solved

Thanks list members, I was advised to find the single wire sensor on the
heat shield near the waste gate. Disconnect the wire and hold to ground and
fan should start turning. It did not, but I did see some sparks coming of
the wire, which told me that the problem was in the fan motor. Pulled the
motor assembly out, which was very easily done by, disconnecting the switch
and unscrewing the two screws, that hold the two straps down. I took the
plastic motor cover of ,and found that one set of carbon brushes was all
twisted and melted in surrounding plastic. Now I am looking for an other
motor ,new or used , may be I could find a similar motor ,that I could fit
the assembly, at Grainger? Thanks, Martin 86 5KCSQ 170K
