Remote Locking

Does anyone know what type of code-encryption, if any, Audi uses on the
keyless entry systems of newer Audis, specifically an 1998 A4? Living in a
city with one of the highest car theft rates, Phoenix, I don't want to open
myself to a thief any more than I have to.
