Group- I am planning a trip to Europe for May of this year. I would like to rent a car in Frankfurt Germany on 5 May and drop it off in Rome Italy on 18 May. So far I have contacted Avis and Hertz asking for an A8 or A6. It seems neither company will rent these cars in Germany and let you drive to Italy. The reason cited was theft. It looks like they will rent me an A4, and allow me to drive into Italy. Is this my only option? Anyone have experience circumventing this problem? Frank Santoro 1990 V8 for sale 1998 A8
