 Take a 10 speed ...Larger crank gear results in higher gearing and faster
wheel speed for each crank rotation.....larger rear gear results in a lower
wheel speed.....

 1st gear is small crank gear and the largest wheel gear....10 gear is
largest crank gear and smallest wheel gear.
