I brought the car into European Motorsports and he thought that it might be an
oxygen sensor problem that is intermittent. The problem seems to coincide with
an O2 sensor replacement about a month ago. I had it replaced but found that
the idle was high. I brought the car back and they fixed the idle problem
(adjusted the timing, I guess). I believe that this is when the hot metal smell
from the middle of the car problem started.
I'm bringing the car in on Friday to have it looked at. Would this seem
indicative of a bad O2 sensor?
