S4/S6 20v(AAN) to 016 Transmission

On the topic of pumping oil to your bearings before start up, I'd suggest
the following: Remove the sparkplugs to take any load off the rods, and crank
the engine over that way to get oil pressure. I've taken a few old engines
apart and there is always an ample supply of oil that remains trapped at the
crank journals and within oil passages in the crankshaft. This is enough to
prevent metal to metal contact until your oil pump supplies a steady stream of
oil. Oiling down the cylinder walls is a good idea.
