Porsche 016

  All 944's and most 924's use the 016.  Only differences are gearing,
limited slip options, and some 944 Turbos used a oil cooler and pump setup.
Some 924's actually had a Porsche designed transmission which is known to be
stronger but has 1st gear to the rear and left of the H pattern.  Strange
that some of the earlier less powerful 924's had a stronger transmission
than the later and 3X more powerful 944 Turbos.  I have heard from numerous
tuners that the 016 can stand up to 375HP on a daily business with a good
synthetic.  Don't know about the Audi versions differential etc...  MGH
